Utilizing the collection should be a fun filled adventure while providing an experience of learning about our founder, Juliette Low, and the rich history of Girl Scouts.

HISTORY

The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles Heritage Committee was officially established in 2011, but our history dates much earlier. Traditionally, Girl Scouts in the Greater Los Angeles region were governed by numerous Councils that were all incorporated with the State of California. Many of these Councils had their Heritage Committees. Over the years Councils formed, disbanded, or merged and by 2008 the following Councils were in active operation: Angeles, Mt. Wilson Vista, Long Beach, San Fernando Valley, and Spanish Trails. At the time, the five Councils merged to become Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles (GSGLA). Three years later, the existing Heritage Committees also merged to become the GSGLA Heritage Committee.

MISSION STATEMENT The Heritage Committee – Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles (Heritage Committee) will acquire, develop, maintain and exhibit a Girl Scout archival collection to ensure the preservation of materials which document the founding, development, organization, management and achievements of the Council, its predecessor […]

["post-42","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry","post
["GET
